EssilorLuxottica Brands Celebrates Multiple Wins at the iF Design Awards 2024

The Group’s brands, Ray-Ban and Oakley garnered four prestigious accolades across multiple categories. The winners of the iF Design Awards were selected by a distinguished jury comprising 132 independent experts from various fields. 


EssilorLuxottica achieved notable success at the 2024 iF Design Awards, which saw its iconic brands, Ray-Ban and Oakley, recognized by the renowned design forum’s panel of expert judges. The iF Design Award is widely considered one of the world’s top three international design contests. It is organized by iF International Forum Design GmbH (iF), the world’s oldest independent design organization based in Hannover, Germany. This year’s competition was intense with nearly 11,000 submissions from 72 countries.  The winners were selected by a distinguished jury comprising 132 independent experts from various fields, highlighting the global significance of these accolades. 


The following products from the Group were honored with the coveted iF DESIGN AWARD seal: 


  1. Ray-Ban | Meta Smart Glasses won the iF DESIGN AWARD 2024 Gold, the highest recognition, in the category Leisure/Smart eyewear, with 410 points. The iF Gold Awards were individually selected from the very best entries of the year. Only 75 out of nearly 11,000 submissions have earned the iF Gold Trophy. 
  2. Also the Human Interface of Ray-Ban | Meta Smart Glasses won an iF DESIGN AWARD in the category User Experience, with 300 points 
  3. Ray-Ban Reverse won an iF DESIGN AWARD in the category Leisure/Sunglasses, with 350 points 
  4. Oakley Helmet ARO7 won an iF DESIGN AWARD in the category Bicycles/Bike helmet, with 330 points 


Ray-Ban | Meta Smart Glasses 

Ray-Ban | Meta Smart Glasses revolutionize the eyewear experience with built-in live streaming and (Meta) Artificial Intelligence. The Ray-Ban | Meta Smart Glasses are accompanied by the Meta View app (iOS and Android). The app has been completely revamped to let users easily share and edit the content captured on their glasses with friends, enhancing the seamless smart eyewear experience. Enabling users to pair multiple glasses to their phone, this improved companion app allows users to spark creativity, get information and control features with their voice.  


Ray-Ban Reverse 

Through disruptive technology, Ray-Ban Reverse transforms the conventional lens shape from convex to concave in a twist nobody expected. As past meets the future, this product combines revolutionary design with iconic eyewear shapes. Front and rear of the lens are calibrated in perfect synergy, resulting in a lens that reaches the highest optical standards, and sharp and accurate vision. What’s more, Ray-Ban Reverse provides the ultimate visual experience with its anti-glare treatment and universal fitting that fuses design and functionality. OAKLEY HELMET ARO7 

ARO7 is the ultimate choice for performance-driven cyclists. With its integrated Prizm™ lens and stealth design, ARO7 is engineered for low drag and maximum efficiency, which give cyclists a competitive edge. At the front of the helmet, the Prizm™ lens uses a unique magnetic system to stay firmly in place. All award-winning entries are presented on www.ifdesign.com and published in the iF Design App. To win an iF Design Award requires passing a rigorous two-stage selection process adjudicated by renowned design experts, signifying a design’s contemporary relevance and global impact. 
 
The iF Design Award, presented by International Forum Design (a German marketing consulting firm), has been recognized as an arbiter of quality for exceptional design. Founded in 1953 as Die Gute Industrieform e.V, the iF Design Award conducts comprehensive evaluations of differentiation and impact, among others, in a total of nine categories — Product, Packaging, Communication, Professional Concept, Interior Architecture, Architecture, Service Design, User Experience (UX) and User Interface (UI). The iF label is renowned worldwide for outstanding design services, and the iF Design Award is one of the most important design prizes in the world.
