3 min read

EssilorLuxottica has partnered with entrepreneur and innovator Matteo Ward to share knowledge on responsible product practices and inspire others through an exciting ‘edutainment’ video project called ‘Back to Sustainability on the Group’s learning platform Leonardo.

EssilorLuxottica aims to create circular products from the very start of its innovation process through to eco-design, supported by its Company-wide Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program ‘Eyes on the Planet’.

To help customers, partners and employees discover more about its commitment to circularity and share valuable insights into its responsible product practices approach, a series of engaging and educational videos have been developed in partnership with special host Matteo Ward, CEO and co-founder of consulting and design studio WRÅD dedicated to sustainable innovation and social change.
The first season of ‘Back to Sustainability’ was launched with episode 1 on March 7 via the Group’s learning platform. The 12 live-episode videos will delve into how EssilorLuxottica integrates sustainability across all stages of the value chain and especially its product portfolio as well as strategies used to decrease environmental impact. Focus is put on the Company’s use of responsible, bio-based and renewable materials – such as nylon and acetate – along with a look at its internal recycling processes and how it limits dependency on fossil-based resources.

Other key topics explored include EssilorLuxottica’s approach to services that extend product lifespan, responsible packaging, resources efficiency, eco-design, customer sustainability perspectives and more.
