CES 2025: Nuance Audio Named CES Innovation Awards 2025 Honoree

EssilorLuxottica showcased its groundbreaking innovations in consumer technology and vision to revolutionize the underserved hearing solutions market thanks to Nuance Audio, which was recognized as an Honoree in the CES 2025 Innovation Awards. 


Reflecting its ongoing transformation into a leading med-tech company in the consumer technology space, EssilorLuxottica recently participated in the 2025 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) which took place in Las Vegas from 9 – 12 January, 2025. Bringing together global companies, from top brands to innovative startups, industry executives, media, and government leaders, this year's event was no exception, hosting more than 141,000 attendees, 4,500 exhibitors, 6,000 members of the media, and 12,000 speakers spread across 300 conference sessions.   


The Group made another return to the iconic event for the second consecutive year with a showcase of its groundbreaking innovations in consumer technology particularly with Nuance Audio, the groundbreaking open-ear hearing software that is seamlessly integrated into a pair of stylish eyewear. It reflects the Company’s vision to revolutionize the underserved hearing solutions market by eliminating the obstacles that have stood in the way of adoption of traditional hearing aids. At the show, Nuance Audio received the CES Innovation Awards 2025 honoree distinction in the Digital Health category of the CES Innovation Awards program, an annual competition honoring outstanding design and engineering in 33 consumer technology product categories. Submissions are reviewed by an elite panel of industry expert judges, including members of the media, designers, engineers, and more. 


Nuance Audio

Nuance Audio transforms traditional hearing aids into an elegant, discreet solution for adults with perceived mild to moderate hearing loss. This innovation blends cutting-edge audio software engineering, world-class smart eyewear design, and user-friendly technology to deliver a superior auditory experience. The companion app enhances the intuitive experience, while the glasses’ open-ear design and directional microphones ensure comfort and clarity in challenging auditory environments, such as noisy trains, busy offices, or lively restaurants.  Nuance Audio is designed to address the needs of approximately 1.25 billion people worldwide with perceived mild to moderate hearing loss. With launch plans set for early 2025 in the U.S. (pending FDA clearance) and in Europe, Nuance Audio represents a groundbreaking solution in the hearing health market. 


Ray-Ban | Meta

The Group also took the opportunity to showcase its full range of Ray-Ban | Meta glasses and their innovative features, ranging from built-in cameras to open-ear audio and Meta AI-powered solutions. Ray-Ban Meta glasses are the ultimate companion and stylish assistant to help people stay in the present moment. With its high quality, 12MP camera, users have since tagged thousands of hands-free photos and videos sharing their unique POV around the world. Ray-Ban Meta feature open ear speakers so people can listen to their favorite podcast, book or album. EssilorLuxottica made significant progress in its wearables category. As Meta’s AI advances, the Company is committed to expanding its styles offerings. Each update introduces new capabilities that enhance the user experience, making its smart glasses more intuitive and accessible. 


Just before CES, the Group announced its acquisition of Pulse Audition, a French startup delivering AI-based noise reduction and voice enhancement through algorithms allowing people with hearing impairment to better understand speech, even in noisy environments. This acquisition complements its long-term strategy and investments in the hearing solutions space that includes the 2023 acquisition of Nuance Audio, reinforcing EssilorLuxottica’s commitment to advancing the next category of smart glasses as computing platforms globally.
